Greetings everyone! Last night, I went to Lady Gaga’s ArtRave Ball, which was for her latest album, ArtPop. I am a big Lady Gaga fan, or a Little Monster if you know the lingo haha, so I was quite excited to be able to see her live in concert again. ArtRave would be the third time that I’ve seen her in concert, but I was just as excited as the first time! Fun fact, during my second year in university, I wrote one of my term papers on Lady Gaga and to this day, my friends still laugh at me for doing so… but hey, I got a decent mark and it was one of my favourite papers to write! 😉 Another fun fact, the first Lady Gaga concert I attended, I waited a total of eight hours in line but I was right in front of her on the floor. Anyways, let’s get this started!
Outfit: I actually bought the crop top just for this concert. I saw the top while browsing on my Instagram feed, and saw it posted from a boutique store in Vancouver. I thought this top was really appropriate because seashells are a dominant theme in the ArtPop album. They were also selling seashell bikinis at the concert, so I definitely do not regret getting that top. My Keds were from the same boutique store that I bought the crop top, they were on sale for $20 so I definitely snagged two great deals that day. As for the skirt, I got it at Garage last year. I was planning on wearing my black studded bag instead, but as I was leaving the house, it BROKE on me and I just rushed back and found the first small shoulder bag I could find.
I usually only wear golden shades, but decided to step it up and wear coloured eyeshadow for the concert! ArtPop is a very colourful album and I wanted to match my eyes with the same style as well! I am pretty happy with the way my makeup turned out. It was also my first time wearing face jewels, so yes I know that they are a bit unbalanced but I definitely had fun wearing it!
My mom owns a lot of bright and flashy makeup products because she’s a competitive ballroom dancer, which requires very sparkly and noticeable makeup for performances and competitions. Hence, all the eyeshadow seen above were borrowed from her. One is Urban Decay, and the other two are L’Oreal. I got the fake eyelashes at Daiso, which is a Japanese operated $2 store. They had quite a lot of glitter on them as well! Of course, I used my favourite eye liner of all time, my holy grail Kat Von D one which I did a post on in June 🙂
Here are some closeups on my makeup! As for the face jewels, I just purchased some plastic rhinestone stickers from the dollar store for $1.25 and stuck them on my face, LOL. I think that face jewels are a very easy and fun way to glam up your look ! At first, I was worried that they wouldn’t stick on properly but none of them came off the entire night of me dancing and jumping around like crazy! You just have to be careful where you stick them, at first I stuck one under my eye but when I smiled, it seemed like it might fall off since my cheeks are pushing them up.
As per tradition, I went early with the group to take pictures and walk around the stadium before the event. Little Monsters go all out for her concerts, and I wanted a chance to see all the fun and excitement before the show started. Apart from her crazy performances, Gaga always finds the time to talk to her fans on a personal level. Always gets me emotional because I just think about how much her music has helped me. Sounds very cliche, but her music was always there when I needed it the most a few years ago (I call those my dark days but that’s a story for another day), and gave me the confidence that I would never have found otherwise. I may not listen to her as much as I used to, but there will always be a special place in my heart for her and what her music has done for me.
I didn’t really take that many pictures, because I wanted to live and enjoy the moment (aka sing and dance my heart out). Concert pictures also always turn out super crappy for me because everything is moving so fast and the lighting is so dark, I just decided not to waste my time trying to take the perfect shot! 🙂
Originally, I had advanced floor tickets but ended up selling them for regular seats, since my friend couldn’t make it anymore and I didn’t know who else would be crazy enough to join me. I ended up really regretting it, so I am definitely going on the floor next time regardless if I find anyone to go with me or not. My boyfriend could clearly tell that I wanted to be dancing with the “hardcore fans” on the floor and that “you definitely do not belong up here, your heart is down there with the rest of them”. But hey, just something to look forward to for the next time my lovely Gaga comes to town ♥
I hope you all enjoyed this post, and enjoyed the concert as much as I did if you went! Talk soon!
