Korres Pure Greek Olive 3-in-1 Nourishing Oil

April 3, 2019

For the past year or so, I have mostly been repurchasing my trusted Mizon Snail Repair Cream, which doesn’t really leave opportunities for as many skincare reviews. But as usual, my skin gets used to the product and doesn’t work as well as it used to – which is common for a lot of people.

To give my skin a bit of a moisture boost, I was introduced to the new Korres 3 in 1 Nourishing Oil. It is part of their new Pure Olive Oil line that launched this season for the first time outside of Greece.

What it says (taken from press release):

Velvety, luxurious oil without silicones for intensive nourishment of face, body and hair. Rich in organic extra virgin Olive oil and reinforced with a mixture of Vitamins C, E, F and omega-6 fatty acids, to improve the natural skin barrier, ensuring smooth skin with increased elasticity. The unique properties of Olive oil offer shiny, smooth hair, preventing breakage and frizz. Easily absorbed, non-greasy and with a fine scent, the PURE GREEK Olive 3-in-1 Nourishing Oil is ideal for all ages and all skin types.

Application: It is called a 3 in 1 oil because the oil is versatile and could be used in 3 places: face, body, and hair. I have been using this mainly on my face day and night, after applying my regular cream above. I usually put around 3 drops on my palm, rub it between my hands, and then pat it over my face.

The oil absorbs pretty fast and is very light weight, and lacks the heavy oil feeling. There is also a pleasant, neutral scent (not too feminine or masculine) that lingers around for a few hours too.

If you have dry hair or split ends, this would be a great product to nourish your hair with and to give it a healthy shine!

Overall, I like this oil and can’t really think of any negatives about it. If I was being picky, I could say that you have to be careful when dispensing the product because a lot could come out at once! Don’t completely put it upside down to dispense or your hands will get oily!

Yay!

Korres Wild Rose Foaming Cream Cleanser

January 10, 2019

At the ACI beauty preview event this September, we were introduced to a new product off of the Korres Wild Rose line! The Wild Rose Foaming Cream Cleanser has joined the family. I’m a big fan of their oil so I was quite excited to dry the cleanser.

What it says (Taken from Sephora):

Wild Rose Foaming Cream Cleanser is a gentle cleanser for the face and eyes to remove impurities, makeup, mascara and environmental pollutants without dehydrating the skin. The cleanser is enriched with wild rose oil, a natural source of vitamin C, and super vitamin C, which absorbs 1,000 percent more than pure ascrobic acid. It refreshes, and maintains skin’s normal pH levels while leaving it silky, soft, and supple.

Application: My favourite thing about this cleanser is the SCENT. It smells like wonderfully floral, just like roses!

Although this cleanser is described as a foaming cream cleanser, it did not foam at all. I would describe it as a cream cleanser.

A little pump fully cleans my skin and leaves it feeling soft and plump. If wearing foundation, I would recommend using a bit more and washing a bit longer to dissolve all the foundation. I love that this cleanser leaves my skin smelling like roses and how plump it feels.

I don’t feel the need to moisturize after, but of course I still do because moisturizing is super important (whether your skin feels dry or not!)

Yay!

Lemongrass House Blue Chamomile Salt Scrub

November 26, 2018

Lemongrass House is a brand that I have recently discovered through blogging, when they sent me a few items to try out. I have already reviewed their carrot and ginger lip balm, so today I will be talking about their blue chamomile salt scrub!

What it says (Taken from website):
Our skin-buffing Sea Salts blended with Blue Chamomile Essential Oil and Jojoba Oil remove all traces of skin roughness.
No need to moisturise after you jump out of the shower as the Jojoba Oil leaves your skin feeling hydrated and soft. Use twice a week for a more harder buffing.

I was wondering what blue chamomile is, turns out chamomile can have different colours just like other flowers. This thought never occurred to me as I just assumed for no good reason that chamomile is only yellow. I learn so much from blogging!

Application: Even before using, I was greeted by the wonderfully calming scents of chamomile and lavender. The salt beads were quite coarse and a light blueish/gray colour. When I used this in the shower, I found it to be very exfoliating and quite abrasive – probably the roughest body scrub I’ve used so far! For this reason, I wouldn’t recommend it if you have sensitive or thin skin.

I also liked how the salt beads did not dissolve when being in direct contact with the running shower water. I was able to scrub my body for a decent amount of time before the salt beads got smaller. My skin was left with a soft residue due to the jojoba oil and aloe vera gel inside the scrub.

Because this scrub is so exfoliating, I would recommend using it once a week at most. I really liked the scent and found it calming. It would be perfect for a self pampering night!

Yay!

Lemongrass House Carrot & Ginger Lip Balm

November 14, 2018

I am happy to share a new brand on my blog, that I haven’t shared before! Lemongrass House is a Thai-based brand, using all natural products. Lemongrass House specializes in handcrafted, spa/skincare products and recently just opened a brick-and-mortar store right here in Vancouver!

The first Lemongrass product that I’d like to share is their carrot & ginger lip balm. It was the first time that I’ve tried such a lip balm flavour!

Application: It is stored in a thin tin. A little bit goes a long way due to the key ingredients of shea butter, coconut oil, bees wax, honey and avocado oil – all moisturizing powerhouses. My dry lips were loving this and soaked it up right away!

I had to get used to the taste of ginger in my lip balm, as I mostly associate it with food/drink. But other than that, I was really impressed at how moisturizing it was.

Stay tuned for more reviews on other Lemongrass House products!

Yay!

Jowaé Youth Concentrate Complexion Correcting Cream

November 4, 2018

Last month, I introduced a new brand named Jowae on my blog. Jowaé just launched last month and can be now found exclusively at Shoppers Drug Mart!

Since writing that post, I have been using some Jowaé products daily, including the one I will be reviewing today! It is such a mouthful so I will just be calling it the correcting cream.

What it says (taken from press release):

Twice as concentrated in antioxidant Lumiphenols, brewed from protective, repairing, anti-dark spots white tea, this serum also contains vitamins B3 and E and was inspired by the radiant complexion of Korean women. It is all skin types’ best friend. The youth concentrate complexion correcting is a true youth activator and skin perfector and defying all the negative effects of daily aggressions.

Application: The cream easily dispenses with the pump, and the packaging is nice and sturdy. It has a light, thin consistency but don’t let that fool you! It is actually very moisturizing and rich, and absorbs very quickly into your skin.

Because it is very rich (despite the light texture), this would be suitable for those with dry skin. I have oily/combination skin depending on the season, and I found that when applying this in the morning, it made my face more oily throughout the day. So now, I only use it at night as a rich repair cream while I sleep.

The Jowae correcting cream also has a nice, light scent too. It is not as feminine smelling like their sakura cream.

Overall, my skin has been loving this cream! I like to use this right after my shower and before I sleep. In the morning, my face is soft and well moisturized!
Yay!

Availability: Shoppers Drug Mart stores and online
Price: $52.00 CAD
